Ruud van Nistelrooy takes charge of his first game as Leicester manager tonight following his appointment as Steve Cooper’s successor, who was relieved of his duties at the King Power Stadium following their 2-1 defeat at home against Chelsea 10 days ago.

The Dutchman takes over a club who have lost five of their last six matches in all competitions, drawing only one of them, a run which includes two defeats against a Manchester United side who were being managed by van Nistelrooy at the time.

The Foxes have slipped to just a point above the relegation zone following their 4-1 defeat by Brentford on Saturday afternoon, and will be desperate to record just a third win of the season tonight against a West Ham side with struggles of their own.

West Ham make the trip to the East Midlands tonight eager to get back to winning ways after falling on the wrong end of a 5-2 thrashing at home against Arsenal on the weekend, leaving them down in 14th in the Premier League table.

The heavy defeat came just five days after a highly impressive 2-0 win away at Newcastle, which relieved a lot of pressure on manager Julen Lopetegui, who has since slipped back into being the favourite to be the next Premier League manager sacked after their loss to Arsenal.

The Hammers have struggled massively with inconsistency this season, and head to the King Power having won only one of their last four matches, and will be see tonight’s clash as a huge chance to get back in the winning column and climb up the table towards where they club believe they should be.

Leicester have won each of their last two matches against West Ham, who have won on only one of their last five visits to the King Power.
