A huge sigh of relief can be heard from the state of Kentucky.

A sigh of relief worth $3.1million.

The Eagles have won nine in a row[/caption]

That’s because a bettor in Kentucky placed one of the largest wagers on an NFL regular season game in the competition’s history, with a $3.1m wager on the Philadelphia Eagles beating the Carolina Panthers.

The final score of that game? Philadelphia 22-16 Carolina.

Exhale.

The bettor placed the wager on the Eagles money line at -700 odds, which resulted in an approximate net payment of $442,800.

It looked dicey throughout the game as Bryce Young and the Panthers battled to the point where they looked primed to take the lead with under a minute to go.

Young launched a pass to wide receiver Xavier Legette, who got behind the secondary, but wasn’t able to hold on to the pass and dropped it.

The Eagles bowed up after that and got the stop, escaping with a six-point win and making someone in Kentucky over 400-grand richer.

The bettor placed the wager through Circa Sports.

Circa Sports owner Derek Stevens had told ESPN that the bettor originally placed $1 million on the Eagles money line, before upping the wager to $3.1 million in total.

This caused Stevens and his team to scramble to get some buyback before the game, to reset the lines.

Saquon Barkley broke the Eagles franchise record for rushing yards in a single reason[/caption]

“I told my guys in the risk room to go to work and get some buyback on the Panthers,” Stevens told ESPN.

“With us being in five states now, we should have the liquidity to get enough buyback to where we end up needing the Eagles.”

The Eagles delivered.

Not only for the Stevens’ sports book, or for the bettor in Kentucky, but for the franchise itself.

It is Philadelphia’s ninth win in a row. The Eagles remain the second seed in the NFC at 11-2, behind the 12-1 Detroit Lions.

They look as strong as ever, and a lot of that is due to the play of MVP candidate, Saquon Barkley .

The Eagles running back made history on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.

He broke LeSean McCoy’s franchise record for rushing yards in a regular season, that stood at 1,607, which Barkley has now surpassed with four games still remaining.

Firmly in the MVP conversation, Barkley now has his eyes set on Eric Dickerson’s single season all-time record, at 2,105.

As of now, everyone in Philadelphia, and one individual in Kentucky, are all smiles.
