The Uganda Powerlifting and Strongman federation has organized the season ending event, the national powerlifting championship on Sunday, 15th December 2024.
This event will be hosted at Hamz Fitness center at the Hamz stadium (Nakivubo war memorial stadium).
According to the organizing team, each of the participants will pay a modest fee ofUg.Shs 30,000 per person.
There will be various categories to be competed in to include; powerlifting, military press, deadlift, bench squat, pull rep challenge and strongman.
Sulaiman Sembatya is the reigning champion.
Other expected competitors include Steven Gidudu, John Paul Kisitu, Arafat Ssekitoleko, US based Isma Ssebagala, Musa Fahad Kalungi, Ronnie Kakis, Chrispus Mayanja, Jamil Kamugisha, Amuza Miro, Brian Nasasira, among others.
The ladies will entail Zahara Namawejje, Rehema Nagawa, Esther Namata, Aisha Nakahima, Ashifat Mukamulisa and other female powerlifters.
Over 50 competitors will be expected to take part in the championship.
The chief judge for this championship will be Frank Csaba from Hungary.
