2024 National Powerlifting championship

Overall winners:

• Male: Paul Lule Simba – 755 kgs
• Female: Aisha Nakhaima – 315 kgs

The 2024 Uganda national powerlifting championships successfully climaxed at Hamz Fitness center (Nakivubo war memorial stadium) Gym.

Fifty-six (56) participants from across the country were engaged in this competition that entailed powerlifting, military press, deadlift, bench squat, pull rep challenge and strongman.

Paul Lule Simba and Aisha Nakhaima emerged as the male and female overall winners respectively.

Simba lifted 755 kgs to beat second placed Dimitri Nembo (710 kgs) and the 2023 champion Sulaiman Ssembatya (690 kgs)

Land Star Hotel sponsored Nakhaima lifted 315 Kgs to come top ahead of the rest of competitors.

Laila Zahara Namawejje (290 Kgs) was second and Rema Nagawa (250 Kgs) came third.

This event was organized by the Uganda Powerlifting and Strongman federation.

The championship also had para-powerlifters.
