Buhimba United Saints won 2-1 at the intimidating Mbale City stadium over Kataka during the 2024 – 2025 FUFA Big League on Sunday, 22nd December 2025.
Edson Agondeze and Martin Phillip Opolot scored for Paul Nkata’s coached Buhimba United Saints.
Kataka’s consolation was an own goal from Buhimba United Saints’ player, Charles Kyomuhendo.
In 11 matches, this was the 5th victory for Buhimba United Saints which takes them to 19 points, same as Onduparaka who earned a point from the 1-all draw away to Kigezi Home Boyz in Kabale.
Onduparaka is third on goal difference (4 goal ahead of Buhimba United Saints).
Meanwhile, Gaddafi Football Club maintained their number one position with a hard fought 2-1 win away over Arua Hill at Pece War memorial stadium, Gulu city.
Two second half goals from Jonathan Mbula Momboko and Denis Lubowa overturned Dickens Kilama’s 16th minute penalty.
This is Gaddafi’s 7th win in as many as 10 matches as they remain top of the standings on 23 points.
Blacks Power overcame MYDA 1-0 at the Akii Bua stadium in Lira city.
Michael Siwu scored the all-important goal in the 43rd minute.
Blacks Power is also on 23 points, but with a lower goal difference compared to Gadaffi.
MYDA suffered their 7th loss of the season in 10 matches as they remain rock-bottom.
Elsewhere, Kiyinda Boys edged Calvary 2-1 at Bertham city ground whilst Kaaro Karungi overcame Paidha Black Angles 1-0.
There were two 1-all stalemates between Kigezi Home Boyz and Onduparaka in Kabale as well as Booma United and Ntungasaze’s encounter in Masindi.
The league takes a break for the festive and new year celebrations until resumption on 5th January 2025.
Three clubs will be promoted to the 2025-2026 Uganda Premier League.
