Aston Villa vs Brighton predictions

Aston Villa beat Brighton five times in a row until a 1-0 loss in May.

Both sides are separated by just two points as Brighton have hit a poor bit of form, without a win in their last five Premier League outings, picking up just three points.

Villa on the other hand, have won three and lost two so haven’t been too consistent but have at least improved to start knocking back on the door for a top six spot.

With Brighton’s current form they look tough to back here, especially combined with their away record against Villa – losing ten and drawing three of their last 14 away games including a 6-1 loss in this fixture last season.

Aston Villa vs Brighton betting tip

A both teams to score bet would have landed ten times in Brighton’s last 11 games in all competitions going back to October.

Their 0-0 draw last time was the first time they’d kept a clean sheet since October 19th when they beat Newcastle 1-0.

Villa have also been scoring and conceding plenty this season so it will be a safe bet to see these two scoring against each other with Villa likely to get the edge as long as Watkins gets back amongst the goals.

He’s only been getting a few minutes in each of the last four Premier League outings but should get a start this time around as Jhon Duran is out suspended from his red card against Newcastle last week.

Morgan Rogers has been consistent this season and gets the odd goal involvement – with a goal and an assist against Man City.

Watkins is amongst the most consistent strikers in the Premier League, with 19 goals last season, 15 the year before and 11 the year before that.

He’s netted seven so far and will likely be back on the score sheet again considering his incredible tally last season with 37 goal involvements overall.

  • Both teams to score, Villa to win – 9/4 on Betfred
  • Watkins to score, Rogers 1+ SOT, over 2.5 goals – 3/1 on Betfred
