Vipers will be confident of leaving Bombo Barracks unscathed when they visit UPDF in the penultimate match of the first round in the Uganda Premier League.
Top of the table with 28 points, John Ayala and Fred Muhumuza men understand that a win will keep them on top until at least the next match day.
With no defeat against the army side in the past 14 premier league meetings, Vipers believe they can end the hosts’ unbeaten home run so far this season.
“We have prepared well and know the task ahead of us,” said Milton Karisa, Vipers SC Captain. “We want to continue with our good form and we are confident of picking maximum points from Bombo,” he added.
The six-time champions have picked points from some tough grounds so far in the campaign winning at Kakyeka, Kavumba, Mbale and Wakissha which gives them optimism.
Karisa and Allan Okello, the leading goal scorer with 10 so far will be the main threat to Bernard Muwanga and his defence on the day.
UPDF, 10th on the 16-team table with 17 points have won just once in the past five outings.
