CAF has confirmed the official draw for the 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) will take place on 15th January 2025.
Initially, the continental football governing body had chosen 9th January as the date on which the draws would be made.
According to a letter signed by CAF General Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba, the draw function will be hosted by Kenya.
“We are pleased to announce that Kenya has been selected as the Host for the 2024
TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) Official Draw.” The letter reads.
Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya is the venue where the draw function will take place.
CAF with guidance from the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will confirm the time on a later date.
19 teams including hosts Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania plus Sudan, Guinea, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Morocco, Central African Republic, Congo, DR Congo, Angola, Zambia, Madagascar, defending Champions Senegal will play at the 2024 CHAN edition and two more slots that are still up for grabs.
The tournament will take place between 1st – 28th February 2025.
