Josh Allen is on the verge of history with the Bills.

Buffalo is four wins away from the first Super Bowl trophy in franchise history.

Allen is also the betting favorite to win the 2024 NFL MVP award, edging out Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Marc Ross believes the winner is obvious.

And it’s the same QB who first caught Ross’ scouting eye as a Louisville freshman on September 5, 2015.

“I had a good friend who was a recruiting coordinator there at Louisville,” Ross, an NFL Network front office analyst, exclusively told talkSPORT.

“He said this guy is going to be better than Michael Vick. And then so he’s on that path, he’s on that trajectory.

“He should win his third MVP this year. Unfortunately — well, fortunately for him — the standard is win a Super Bowl.”

Buffalo went 13-4 while dominating the AFC East and earning the AFC’s No. 2 seed.

The Bills will host Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos on Sunday in an AFC Wild Card playoff game.

Baltimore was uneven for much of the year but finished with four straight wins and a 12-5 mark.

With Jackson topping Allen in everything from passing yards and touchdowns to QB rating, Ross is 100 percent in favor of the Ravens leader as the NFL’s MVP.

Derrick Henry gave Jackson and the Ravens a huge boost[/caption]

“Just look at their stats side-by-side and Lamar is beating him in everything,” Ross said.

“But then the historical things that Lamar has done. I mean, he’s not competing against Josh Allen. He’s done things that no one has ever done in history.

“And by the way, he’s the greatest runner of all time too. … I think it should be a slam dunk for Lamar.

“And the biggest thing, you listen to all the players. Whenever there’s a thing about the players, they’ll say Lamar — just listen to those guys.”

Allen didn’t have Derrick Henry in his backfield and had to overcome the offseason departure of No. 1 wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

Buffalo had the second-highest ranked scoring in the offense in the NFL, which sometimes meant that Allen watched fourth quarters from the bench.

Jackson already has two MVPs, so a third won’t change his life.

A Super Bowl ring will, though, and Ross has been big on the 2024 Ravens since training camp.

“This is a great opportunity for him,” Ross said.

“I picked the Ravens preseason. I stayed with it midseason. I’m staying with it now for the Ravens to win.”

There’s no debating that Jackson has been a generational position changer since entering the NFL in 2018.

His next step is winning the biggest annual sports event in the world.

“The guy’s (28) and he’s accomplished all this,” Ross said.

“It would have almost been better if he wasn’t as great as he’s been, so fast. If he just kind of eased into it — he didn’t win the MVP, you know?

“Then those are the expectations, but they are what they are. They’re there. He knows that.

“Whenever you hear Lamar talk …. (he’s) always about the team and always about winning the Super Bowl. He never talks about individual accolades.

“He never talks about himself. He just talks about the team and winning the Super Bowl.”
