Triple H wastes no time getting involved as WWE fans pile in after NFL star’s ‘worst Pedigree ever’ celebration

It seems Philadelphia Eagles star Quinyon Mitchell is a big fan of Triple H.

During Sunday’s wild card win over the Green Bay Packers, the rookie cornerback chose the perfect time to make his first NFL interception.

As the Packers looked to cut into the 22-10 deficit with under two minutes left in the game, quarterback Jordan Love took a deep shot at the end zone.

His pass, looking for wide receiver Bo Melton, was snatched out of the air by Mitchell.

Naturally, the rookie was mobbed by his teammates, and he then ran off away to celebrate in style.

Mitchell tried to hit Triple H‘s WWE finishing move, the Pedigree, on fellow Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean.

The move, normally performed in the middle of the ring and not in the end zone, sees a wrestler place their opponent’s head between their legs, before hooking their arms and jumping up to spike the opponent’s head into the mat.

Unfortunately for Mitchell, DeJean fell to the ground too early, completely throwing off the timing of the unique celebration.

And with the cameras capturing the failed attempt, fans were quick to take to social media to suggest the pair had pulled off one of the worst Pedigrees ever seen.

“Terrible sell job,” one person joked on X.

“LOL… that might be the worst Pedigree of all time,” another said.

“That wasn’t a Pedigree. Not even close. Awful,” a third concluded.

A fourth said: “That was the ugliest Pedigree I’ve ever witnessed with my eyeballs.”

Even Triple H himself was quick to join the conversation, poking fun at Mitchell’s effort.

“There’s a reason we say ‘Don’t try this at home’… congrats on the win Quinyon and Eagles,” he wrote, referencing WWE’s warning message.

While Triple H is renowned as the master of the move these days, even he got it wrong on the odd occasion.

In fact, one fan pointed out that Mitchell’s effort reminded them of a Pedigree the WWE legend tried – and failed – to hit on Kurt Angle at SummerSlam back in 2000.

As he jumped to spike Angle’s head on the announce table, the desk gave way and the pair fell to the ground.

Angle has since admitted that attempt actually left him with a concussion.

“The story of the match was Triple H had to take me out at the beginning… I wasn’t supposed to get knocked out for real,” he revealed in 2021.

“It was supposed to be a work. But unfortunately, the table gave way early and Triple H had my arms behind my back for the Pedigree finish.

“He didn’t have time to let my arms go so I could protect myself. So the table gave way, and I got knocked out.”
