2025 Katabi Miruka football & netball tournament

All is set for the 2025 Katabi Miruka sports tournament that will entail the disciplines of football and netball.
The five parishes within Katabi town council as Kitala, Nalugala, Nkumba, Kisubi and Kabaale will all be engaged.
The official opening match will witness Nalugala against Kitala at the Kanwa playground in Kitala parish.
His Worship the mayor of Katabi Town council Ronald Kalema (Basamula’ekere) launched this championship targeted towards identifying and developing talented players as well as assembling a strong team for Katabi town council.
The teams assembled will then compete at the 2025 Wakiso district sports competitions.
“Sports especially football is one of the games that unite people in every community. That is why we decided to organize this tournament on additional to the preparations of the Wakiso district competitions. It is also a chance for the youth to showcase their talents to the public as well as having good interactions to each other,” His Worship Kalema remarked.
Katabi Town council sports minister Daniel Kuteesa Waddimba remains optimistic that this tournament is the right avenue for the youth to showcase their talents, be followed to the dot for further development.
“We decided to organize this tournament in order to help youth showcase their talents as well as the establishment of new talents and we shall continue to organize it annually as we aim to get new players,” Waddimba remarked.
Hefty enticing prizes to be won:
The champion of this tournament in football will smile home with a bull, gold medals, a glittering trophy and a set of jerseys.
The winning netball team will get a goat, trophy and gold medals.
There are also other gifts that await the respective top performers as well as certificates.
The final is anticipated to be played on 2nd March 2025 at the dusty Nkumba Kataka playground.
