Greg Olsen wants the world to know he’s not happy with his current situation.

After a 14-year NFL career, the former tight end began working as a color commentator for Fox Sports in 2021.

Within a year he was promoted to the network’s top broadcasting team as a lead analyst, drawing rave reviews from fans who loved his insightful on-air analysis and likeable personality.

Olsen even worked in the booth during Super Bowl LVII between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles following the 2022 season.

But then NFL GOAT Tom Brady became available, and Fox brutally demoted Olsen in favor of Brady, signing the seven-time Super Bowl winner to a ten-year, $375 million deal before this season began.

NFL fans were aggrieved on behalf of Olsen, who was relegated to the network’s second team.

He was paired with Joe Davis, the voice of MLB‘s Los Angeles Dodgers and the World Series on Fox. The demotion came at a significant financial cost, with Olsen’s salary dropping from $10 million to $3 million after dropping off the lead crew.

Olsen was recently asked if he thinks he’ll have a chance to call another Super Bowl and he was in no doubts.

“In my mind, I’m going to call big-time games again,” Olsen told the Charlotte Observer. “I’m going to call Super Bowl games again. I just don’t know the timeline or the venue.”

“I’ve been very honest. My goal getting into this was to not just call regional one o’clock games and just be happy to be there,” Olsen also told via WCNC’s Nick Carboni on X.

Olsen has made it clear that he’s not a fan of being No. 2 again.

“It’s pretty clear that the path, the upward trajectory as far as Fox goes, probably is a non-factor,” he said.

“I don’t know what the future holds. I enjoy working at Fox. Fox has been very good to me. They know.”

In an interview with The Athletic, Olsen talked about the feelings he experienced going from the top team to the No.2 team, knowing it was all out of his control.

“I don’t think resentment’s probably accurate,” Olsen said.

“But I also think it’s not too far off if I’m being honest

“I don’t have any ill will — there’s no personal resentment towards Tom or, obviously, K.B. (Kevin Burkhardt) and Erin (Andrews).

“I still talk to all of them fairly regularly.

“I’m hoping to see them next week down in New Orleans and grab dinner or a drink and just kind of shoot the s***, catch up.”

When asked what it has been like to not call the big games anymore, Olsen described the feeling as frustrating.

“It’s hard to sit there and watch games that over the last couple of years you were preparing for, and you were calling,” Olsen said.

“And then you’re sitting there on your couch and you’re watching the game, you’re almost kind of broadcasting the game in your brain.”

“You’re saying, ‘Oh, man, what would I have said on this play? There was so much to talk about there. That would’ve been super fun to dive into.’

“So you’re kinda driving yourself crazy with all these what-if scenarios as you’re watching the game.

“It’s very hard now to watch the games and just sit back and watch.”

Olsen currently has two years left on his Fox contract.

It remains to be seen if he stays with the network or seeks pastures new once his deal is up.
