Adam Azim will be hoping to prove he is ready to take over the super-lightweight division when he faces Sergey Lipinets this weekend.

The 22-year-old Brit sensation has won all 12 of his professional fights so far, claiming a stoppage win over Ohara Davies last time out.

Nine of Azim’s wins have come via knockout, and now he’s aiming to win his first world title to take the next step up in his career.

However, he is going to face a tough opponent in former world champion Lipinets, who boasts an 18-3 record and most recently beat Robbie Davies Jr. in a thriller.

There is a 13-year age difference between the two fighters but that is unlikely to worry the unbeaten Azim when fight night arrives.

Azim vs Lipinets: What has been said?

Azim has vowed to end Lipinets’ career this weekend.

“I’m looking forward to this fight, it’s going to be a huge breakthrough for me,” he said.

“2025 is definitely when I bring myself through to the world stage. Not just domestically, global [level], I’m going to announce myself on the world stage.

“He’s a great fighter, he’s a world-class fighter, but with all due respect to him, I’m going to end his career on the day.”

The 22-year-old continued: “You look at it, Sergey is a good fighter, he’s an elite fighter, but has he fought anyone like me?

“He’s lost against ‘Boots’ [Ennis], Mikey Garcia. I’m going to prove myself as an elite fighter.

“I’ve been in the game for quite a long time now. I started at the age of four.

“Years of utter dedication and I’m ready for anyone.”
