The Philadelphia Eagles are one game away from achieving sporting glory in the Super Bowl, and Saquon Barkley will be key to their chances.
The running back is one of the most exciting players in the NFL at the moment and has the potential to decide the biggest games in just a few seconds.

He is known as ‘Quadzilla‘ for very good reason, and he puts that physique to use.
But he hasn’t been at the Eagles for long, and his departure has badly wounded his old franchise and turned the Eagles into genuine Super Bowl contenders.
If any team can stop the Kansas City Chiefs from winning three in a row, it’s the Eagles and Barkley.
Was Saquon Barkley traded?
No, the Eagles pulled off a brilliant free-agent signing last offseason when they landed Barkley.
It was an extremely controversial move as he swapped the New York Giants for the Eagles.
The Eagles and Giants are bitter rivals given their proximity, while it has turned into a shambolic series of events for Barkley’s former team.
The Giants elected to keep quarterback Daniel Jones rather than extend Barkley’s contract despite the 27-year-old being there for five years.
But Jones isn’t even still in New York after a shocking period of games saw him dropped before he asked to leave in late 2024.
He now plays for the Minnesota Vikings, so the Giants sacrificed Barkley for someone they no longer have on the roster.

Of course, the Eagles swooped in and signed Barkley to a contract.
The running back even criticised the Giants for the way they negotiated with him.
Speaking to the NFL’s official website after joining the Eagles, he said: “I was a little fed up, to be honest.
“It felt like the only way the Giants wanted me (was) if I was able to go show my worth to someone. Like, I (had) to go prove that a team would want to pay me, so then, maybe, they would want to pay me.
“I kind of felt like it was a little disrespectful, to be honest. Because it’s kind of like a slap in the face.
“It was over after that phone call.”

What is Barkley’s contract situation?
Barkley has a three-year contract with the Eagles.
His deal is set to expire in 2027, and it is worth $37.75million.
This includes a signing bonus of $11.6m and a guaranteed $26m.
Incredibly, this makes him just the 11th highest-paid player currently representing the Eagles.
However, there are plenty of bonuses and incentives available to the running back.
He’s already managed to bank $1m for making over 2,000 yards this season.
Plus, winning the NFC Championship game guaranteed him another $250,000, and a Super Bowl victory would be worth $500,000.
