Ireland got their 2025 Six Nations campaign off to the perfect start last Saturday with a five-point win over England at the Aviva Stadium.
On Sunday the Irish will seek to make it two wins from two when they face Gregor Townsend’s Scotland at Murrayfield. In the latest Scotland vs Ireland odds, the bookmakers are backing Simon Easterby’s team to get the job done.

Scotland vs England prediction
After taking 40 minutes to find their feet, Ireland turned on the style in the second period of their opening Six Nations match to beat England 27-22.
With no Andy Farrell in the Irish command centre, and after the autumn defeat to New Zealand, there were plenty of questions being asked about the team in the build up to the start of the competition.
And with England 10-5 up at the halfway stage, fans would have rightly been nervous.
But Ireland isn’t the No.2 ranked nation in the world for nothing, and the boys in green came roaring back in the second period, scoring 22 unanswered points as they raced into a 27-10 lead after 72 minutes.
Interim head coach Simon Easterby wouldn’t have been happy with the 12 points his team conceded to England in the final few minutes. But the game was already over, and by this point, the Irish were just going through the motions.
Scotland started their 2025 Six Nations with a 31-19 win over Italy, in what was a brutally physical encounter with the Azzurri.
It was a match Gregor Townsend’s team expected to win. And although they came under some pressure, Scotland always looked in control and ran out convincing 12-point winners after two second half scores from Huw Jones put the match to bed.
Scotland haven’t beaten Ireland since a 27-22 win at Murrayfield in 2017. They will see this fixture as their best chance in years to end that eight year winless run.
In a further boost to Scotland’s chances, the Irish are still without Tadhg Furlong and Joe McCarthy. But Mack Hansen and Finlay Bealham are both fit to play after picking up injuries in the win over England.
Scotland vs Ireland betting tips
Ireland (-6.5) to win on the handicap spread – 1/1 with bet365
Ireland has the edge over Scotland. The boys in green have won their last ten against the Scots, and after the results on the opening weekend of the competition, there was little evidence to suggest that run is going to end on Sunday.
Scotland had a chance to lay down a marker against Italy. They didn’t do it, Gregor Townsend’s team did get the bonus point win, but it was another performance that left you wanting more.
Ireland did look vulnerable against England for 40 minutes. But they have got those nerves out of their system now, and we can see them beating Scotland and covering the 6.5-point handicap.

Under 43.5 Points – 20/23 with BetVictor
Under 43.5 points has been the outcome in the three most recent Six Nations encounters between Scotland and Ireland.
Both teams may have covered this amount in their opening matches, but they are likely to cancel each other out a bit more at Murrayfield this Sunday.
The weather also doesn’t look great. The rain should have cleared by the time the match kicks off, but there will still be plenty of dampness on the ground and in the air, which could affect ball handling and the quality of the play.

Jamison Gibson-Park to score a try anytime – 6/4 with Boylesports
Jamison Gibson-Park produced the goods when it mattered with a try against England at the Aviva Stadium last Saturday.
The 32-year-old is an integral part of the Irish team and when a game is tight, time and time again, it’s the Leinster scrum-half who does something special.
In a match that could be dominated by the forwards, a bet on Gibson-Park to take advantage and score anytime looks worthwhile at odds of 6/4.
