Kylian Mbappe wrote his name into the football history books with a landmark strike against Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid may have been forced to settle for a draw in the clash with their fierce rivals, but Mbappe’s second-half leveller was historic in his own right.

That’s because the strike at the Bernabeu was the French forward’s 500th goal contribution in his career.

His deflected effort was the 313th goal of his career to date.

Added to the 187 assists that he’s racked up over the years, Mbappe is in a league of his own.

At 26 years of age, the Real Madrid star became the youngest player to reach that incredible tally.

By comparison, Cristiano Ronaldo managed 302 goal contributions by the time he was 26 years old.

These goals came during his spells with Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United and Real Madrid before clicking into an entirely new gear for goalscoring excellence as he moved into his prime years.

Lionel Messi recorded significantly more than Ronaldo, bagging 486 goal contributions for Barcelona at the same stage.

Meanwhile, Neymar achieved a hugely impressive 492 contributions by the age of 26, having bagged plenty for Brazilian side Santos before arriving at Barcelona.

For Mbappe, his ruthless nature in front of goal started at an early age.

The forward made his senior debut in December 2015 when he became Monaco‘s youngest-ever player at the age of 16 years and 347 day.

His first goal came not long after as he scored 27 goals and grabbed 15 assists before moving to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017.

With PSG he scored 256 and assisted 106 times in 308 during his eight years at the club.

Having joined Real Madrid last summer, Mbappe has already scored 23 goals and provided four assists and looks every bit the Galactico that supporters of Los Blancos are hoping for.

His goalscoring exploits have been just as impressive on the international stage too, scoring 48 goals and providing 35 assists in 86 games.

Mbappe’s latest contribution was an equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid.

That point ensured that Real Madrid retained top spot with Diego Simeone‘s side just one behind them in LaLiga.
