LeBron James will once again be appearing in the NBA All-Star game this weekend.
At 40 years old, the basketball icon is set to take to the court among the rest of the league’s biggest superstars for a brand-new tournament.

James is part of Team Shaq, selected by fellow legend Shaquille O’Neal, and he’ll be joined as a starter by Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.
He’s going to be making the most of yet another appearance, and it’s one that is going to extend his lead in the NBA record books.
How many All-Star games has LeBron played in?
LeBron is set to compete in his 21st NBA All-Star game.
He was first selected for the exhibition game in 2005 and now, two decades later, he will increase his record as the player with the most All-Star appearances in history.
He was already one clear of Kareem Abdul Jabar’s previous record of 19 after moving ahead of the Hall of Famer by playing last year.
James also has two more appearances of the late, great Kobe Bryant and a whopping six more than O’Neal, Durant, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett.
Out of the top 10 appearance-makers, only James and Durant are still playing in the league today.
Michael Jordan is the GOAT in many fans’ eyes, often being compared to LeBron in the fierce debate over the two superstars’ legacy.
Their careers are both equally incredible, but it’s James who blows Jordan out of the water when it comes to the All-Star game.
He has seven more appearances than the iconic six-time NBA champion.

Speaking after his record-extending selection for the All-Star game this weekend, James said: “First of all, special thanks to my fans that voted me in in their portion.
“The coaches, players who had anything to do with me being a part of it, it’s always special and very humbling. I don’t take it for granted being an All-Star.
“When I was a kid, I always watched the All-Star Game and always wanted to be on that floor. It’s always special. Pretty happy about it.”
As mentioned, James is going to be joined in Team Shaq by Curry and Durant.
He’ll also have Kyrie Irving joining his team after he replaced the injured Anthony Davis.
Irving will line up with Jayson Tatum, James Harden, Damian Lillard and Jaylen Brown in a team stacked full of star talent.
Team Shaq will compete against Team Chuck, selected by Charles Barkley, and Team Kenny, selected by Kenny Smith.
All three of those teams will be joined by Team Candace, managed by Candace Parker, who will be the team that wins the Rising Star Game.
Nikola Jokic is going to lead Team Chuck which also includes Karl-Anthony Towns, Victor Wembanyama and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Team Kenny sees Anthony Edwards, Jalen Brunson and Darius Garland star.
There’s no doubt LeBron will be out there enjoying himself amongst the older heads and the NBA’s newest and best talent.
At 40 and 22 seasons into his career, this could well be his final All-Star Game.
