KCCA renew acquaintances with Lugogo rivals NEC in a highly anticipated league clash as the two sides open their second round.
The hosts, NEC edged the reverse fixture 1-0 with former KCCA midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba scoring the winning goal.
Coming into the game, NEC are in second place with 31 points and need to win to keep table leaders Vipers who beat URA on Tuesday within touching distance.
On the other hand, KCCA who were undone by a decision from the Fufa Disciplinary Panel to take off their win over Mbarara City after fielding Gavin Kizito who was adjudged to have accumulated three bookings.
They come into the game without the former Villa captain who sits out the match as part of the suspension and he joins five others who are out due to injuries.
Julius Poloto, Peter Magambo, Usama Arafat, Raynold Ssebaduka and Muhammud Hassan are all ruled out.
The Kasasiro are in fourth position with 24 points and a win will lift them over Express in 3rd who were beaten 2-0 by BUL on Wednesday at Nakivubo.
Umar Lutalo is in line to make his debut ad if chosen, he will be tasked with creative work alongside Shafik Nana, Bright Anukani, Ashraf Mugume and Ettiene Katenga.
On the other hand, Ibrahim Kiyemba and Ibrahim Thembo are out for NEC with a bout of malaria but the rest of the squad including new arrivals Alpha Ssali and Ibrahim Kasinde could debut.
“It will be a tough game because KCCA will come all out to avenge the first-round defeat and so we must be lethal at both ends,” said Hussein Mbalangu, the NEC coach.
Former KCCA players Benjamin Ochan, Paul Mucureezi and Mutyaba will be vital for the Bugolobi based side.
Elsewhere, Mbarara City make a long trip from the west to the east of the country to take on Mbale Heroes while UPDF are at home to Kitara.
