  • UPDF FC Vs Kitara FC – Bombo 4pm
  • NEC FC Vs KCCA FC – Lugogo 7pm

After replacing Asaph Mwebaze on a permanent deal, Baker Mbowa starts work at Mbale Heroes with a stern test against visiting Mbarara City on Thursday at Mbale City stadium.

The ex-Bright Stars and Express gaffer watched from the sidelines as the Surgeons were eliminated from the Stanbic Uganda late last month but could be having an idea of how he wants his team to play now.

They did sign over eleven players as they aim to move from the bottom of the table where they sit with 9 points having won just two matches and three draws.

For Mbarara City whose survival chances were boosted by a 3-0 boardroom win over KCCA, adding on their 17 points tally will be the targeted.

Livingstone Mbabazi, a former teammate with Mbowa at KCCA has reinforced his side and will hope new signings including Peter Onzima show up on the day alongside old guards Seiri Arigumaho and Henry Kitegenyi.

The reverse fixture at Kakyeka ended in a 1-0 win for the Ankole Lions in the only competitive topflight meeting between the two sides.

Elsewhere on Thursday, NEC host KCCA in the Lugogo derby while UPDF are at home to Kitara.
