Rwanda’s professional golfer Celestin Nsanzuwera maintained his lead aloft the summit of the leaderboard for the 2025 Rwanda Golf Open at the par-72 Kigali Golf Resort and Villas after three rounds (54 holes).
Nsanzuwera takes a two-shot lead to the final round having amassed a total of 10-under-206 in grueling 54 holes’ action.
Zimbabwean Promise Sembreiro, who returned the best score of 3-under-69 during round three is neck-to-neck with Nsanzuwera.


Another Zimbabwean Visitor Mapwanya is chasing the leader by 5 shots.
Uganda’s Ronald Rugumayo is fourth placed coming to the explosive final round with an overall 3-under-accumulative score of 211 gross.
Legendary Kenyan professional Dismas Indiza and another Ugandan Tadeo Roell Gaita are jointly tied on 1-under-215.
Gaita climbed up to the top five positions and could do better in the final round to have a bigger bargain of the prize money.
The top ten positions are occupied by Njoroge Kibugu (Kenya), David Wakhu (Kenya), Francis Epe (Nigeria) and Zambian Madalisto Muthaiya with each having +1 (217) from the previous three rounds
Five Ugandan professionals were among the thirty professionals who made the cut after two rounds and will partake on the total prize money fund of 50,000 USD.
Saturday, 15th February 2025 will present the final 18 holes as the golfers eye a tense climax to make it 72 holes in total.
Gross Cluster (Amateur leaderboard)
For the elite amateurs (gross players), Kenya’s Michael Karanga is ahead of the rest with a 4-under-212 gross mark.
Karanga is one shot better than Rwanda’s Jean D’Amour Hitayezu (213) and four ahead of fellow Kenyan Adel Balala (216).
Uganda national team captain Joseph Cwinya-ai and Kenyan John Lejirma are jointly tied in fourth place with 221 (+5) apiece.
Like the professionals, the elite amateurs will make their fourth round on Saturday.
