William Crolla, brother of Anthony Crolla, continued his unbeaten start to life in boxing with another stunning win.

Crolla is making his early strides in the sport as a professional, having won his opening six fights in dominant fashion.

He took to the ring in his latest super-welterweight encounter on the undercard of Jack Catterall’s clash with Arnold Barboza in Manchester.

And the young star took on Ayoub Zakari looking to continue his KO streak which was five, having been held to a points win on his pro debut in May 2023.

Zakari was of course an underdog with seven defeats to his name, but Crolla charged out seriously aggressive in the fast-paced opener.

He controlled the narrative throughout the opening exchanges, and it seemed inevitable that it would only be a matter of time.

Crolla charged towards his opponent with 30 seconds to go on the clock, walking him down.

He unloaded a barrage of shots with Zakari desperately retreating and covering up in his shelled guard.

A left hook took Zakari’s legs from underneath him and he wobbled as Crolla went in for the kill.

Heavy artillery couldn’t miss as he landed more and more shots, with Zakari now stumbling backwards and being pummelled.

The referee saw fit to jump between the pair and halt the contest, with the Spaniard taking some serious punishment.

It was yet another sensational win for the superstar in the making, who extended his professional record to 7-0.

Eddie Hearn was delighted with his fighter’s performance on the Matchroom Boxing bill.

He even compared the young rising star to boxing icon Gennady Golovkin.

Hearn said: “What we are watching is Gennady Golovkin.

“The way that he throws his shots. I see you turning your knuckles over.

“You know exactly where you are throwing your shots. The Manchester Golovkin, whatever I don’t care.

“He’s knocking people out. We love to see it. The spite that he has, I wouldn’t want to get in with him.

“He’s a big puncher, a great family and a great fighter and he will put fear into the 154lbs division.”

Golovkin is one of the most powerful punchers seen in the modern era, with his remarkable time in the sport culminating in huge fights against Canelo Alvarez.

He even put together a KO streak of 23 which lasted over ten years, and Crolla has some way to matching his stellar achievements.

Fans were equally impressed with his display, and he is the latest of an exciting conveyor belt of young talent coming through the ranks in the sport.

Crolla would of course like to try and move his way through the ranks, but seems destined to reach the pinnacle of the sport.

He has serious potential, and with the backing of brother and former world lightweight champion Anthony Crolla, he will likely go on to big things.
