Combat sports enthusiasts were stunned after seeing one of the most bizarre fights in MMA history.

The fight witnessed 10 lighter-built amateurs go head-to-head against two professional heavyweights in a wild showdown.

In what turned out to be an all-out war with 12 men in total stepping foot into the octagon, both teams traded heavy leather as the bout witnessed several knockdowns.

The amateurs put on a good showing, and at one point even managed to floor one of the professionals.

The comical encounter was put on by Real Xtreme Fighting, a Romanian MMA promotion based in Bradov, and fans certainly had a lot to say after witnessing the fight.

One took to X and wrote: “This is pure madness. What his happening?!”

While another said: “How do these get sanctioned?”

A third added: “We live in the best era in history.”

A fourth responded: “You know, I’ve always thought it would be interesting to see a tag team MMA match. This is pretty much what I expected, and I love it.”

The 10 amateur fighters, evidently smaller in stature, split into groups in an attempt to break up the pros at the beginning of the fight.

However, the professionals were able to weather the storm early as they picked off each amateur one by one.

The big men then started to land some heavy blows on those unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of them, before they went on the aggressive as some of their opponents limped out of the cage.

In one of the most dramatic moments of the bout, one of the professionals had his back turned and was clocked by a brutal right hand from an amateur.

The amateur, and a flock of his teammates, then followed up with some nasty ground-and-pound, but the professional survived.

In the final few seconds of the second round, the referee called an end to the fight as some of the amateurs began running away from their gigantic opponents.

Both professional fighters were then crowned the winners of the crazy fight.

This isn’t the first time we have seen mismatches in European MMA promotions.

In December, a Polish MMA fighter was forced to take on an opponent and his dad after missing weight for his bout.

Alan Kwiencinsk, who is well-known for his fights under KSI’s Misfits Boxing banner, was scheduled to make his MMA return against Amadeusz ‘Ferrari’ Roslik in Lodz, Poland.

But he missed the welterweight limit for his return to the cage by over seven pounds, tipping the scales at 81kg.

Consequently, FAME MMA organisers turned the fight into a 2v1 clash, with Kwiencinsk taking on ‘Ferrari’ and his father, Dariusz Roslik, known as ‘Old Ferrari’.

This even prompted UFC middleweight Bo Nickal to call for UFC President Dana White to make a change in his promotion.

“Implement this rule UFC,” he said, referring to the rule that if a fighter misses weight, they face their opponent and their opponents dad.

Fans called for the father-son duo, who won the fight, to take on the Neffati Brothers in an equal two versus two bout.

They famously challenged the former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall in a bizarre handicap MMA match in June.

The bout was part of a World Freak Fight League event at King George’s Hall in Blackburn.

But Hall, unsurprisingly, ended his long-awaited MMA debut in brutal fashion by scoring a brutal double KO.
