Kagera Sugar hit-man Lwasa aspires to maintain current status quo

For his maiden season in the Tanzania Premier League, Uganda international Peter Lwasa has continued to set the bar high.

During the 15 matches featured at Kagera Sugar Football Club, Lwasa is the club’s top scorer thus far with seven goals to his name tag.

In the process, he has deservedly earned two man of the match accolades.

Lwasa, his immediate past employer was Uganda’s Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) football club vows to maintain the current form.

“I am happy to have started well at Kagera Sugar Football Club. I thank my playing teammates, all technical personnel and other staff at the club” Lwasa hints.

“I want to remain focused and hardworking to maintain the form as the season progresses to get better and better” he added.

Lwasa joined the Bukoba based side from KCCA football club, signing a two-year deal.

His footballing journey commenced in the native country Uganda and has witnessed him play in Kenya, DRC and now in Tanzania

Tanzania is the fourth country that he is plying his professional football trade after service at Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Kenya (Sofapaka, Kariobangi Sharks and Gor Mahia) as well as the Democratic Republic of Congo with Lubumbashi Sport.

Lwasa is a workaholic player on and off the ball with an enviable eye for the back of the net.

Besides, he is also comfortable with the ball and easily takes on the opposition and he easily involves the teammates at all times.

The Tanzania Premier League has a couple of Ugandan players; including the Uganda Cranes captain Khalid Aucho at Young Africans.

Others players include Steven Desse Mukwala at Simba, Dissan Galiwango (Dodoma Jiji), Louis Amagu Anguti (Coastal Union), Nicholas Kasozi and Deus Bukenya (Kagera Sugar), among others.
