Simba coach Alex Gitta has warned giants SC Villa to thread carefully as the two sides face off in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 at Namulonge.
Gitta who has formerly coached among other sides Express and Wakiso Giants where he got wins over Villa mocked the record league holders and 9-time Uganda Cup winners that they are no longer the fearsome side of the old.
“We are ready to put up a strong contest against Villa and progress,” said Gitta in a pre-match presser.
“Reaching the round of 32 was our target but we now dream of achieving more,” he added.
“We are not going to sit back and defend deep because this is no longer the fearsome Villa of old.”
The always confident talking tactician, a professional lawyer knows a thing or two about Villa’s weaknesses which he hopes to utilize to his side’s advantage.
“They are poor at defending crosses and don’t score enough so we shall trouble them.”
Simba eliminated premier league side Mbale Heroes in the previous round and will hope to stun another top tier side.
Elsewhere, record cup winners Express travel to Yumbe to face Total without Sam Ssenyonjo, Pascal Ngoobi, Emmanuel Wasswa and Richard Basangwa who are reportedly injured while Fufa Big League side Buhimba Saints take on Rwenzori Lions.
