It might still work out between Tee Higgins and the Cincinnati Bengals.

But if it goes bad, Higgins’ mom will have been perfectly ahead of the curve.

“Selfish b*******,” Higgins’ mom posted on X.

While Higgins battles the Bengals for a new contract, his mother appears to be publicly expressing her frustration about the stalemate.

The 26-year-old Higgins is hoping for a massive extension from Cincinnati.

If he receives a four-year deal, it could be worth at least $100 million.

But right now, Higgins is expected to receive the franchise tag for a second consecutive year.

Ja’Marr Chase, Trey Hendrickson and Higgins are all seeking big-time money, and the Cincy trio have been backed by star quarterback Joe Burrow as being worthy of new deals.

Yet Higgins’ contract situation has been a pressing issue for months, and there’s still no certainty as a March 12 start for NFL free agency approaches.

Higgins’ mom posted that her ‘selfish’ comment wasn’t about the Bengals.

But fans hoping for a contract breakthrough immediately assumed the worst.

“Bengals will never win a Super Bowl with that front office,” one fan tweeted.

“Come play for the Chiefs!!!” a second fan wrote.

“Hope the best for your son,” a third fan said. “Hope he gets the money he’s earned.”

Higgins is set to make an estimated $26 million on the franchise tag.

Burrow has declared that Higgins is a ‘need’ for a Cincy team hoping to improve on a disappointing 9-8 season.

“I’m confident that I think we’re gonna be able to do what it takes to bring Tee back,” Burrow said.

Yet former Bengals star Chad Johnson believes that Higgins could be better off elsewhere.

“Tee Higgins deserves his money, as well,” Johnson said on the Nightcap with Shannon Sharpe.

“He’s not going to be able to get what he’s worth if he stays in Cincinnati.”

The Bengals gave Burrow a record-setting five-year, $275 million deal.

With Chase also waiting to be paid like an All-Pro, Higgins could be caught in the middle of a messy situation.

Cincy will save money by tagging Higgins again.

A fifth-year pro with 330 career catches for 4,595 yards and 34 touchdowns could lose out on almost $80 million of promised money.

While Burrow wants the Bengals to pay all of their stars, Cincy could be forced to choose — and Higgins might be better off being paid by another NFL team.
