- Vipers vs Mbarara City – Kitende 7pm
- CATDA vs Kitara – Bugolobi 3pm
- Kaaro Karungi vs Busia Youngsters – 3pm
Vipers and Kitara face potential banana skins in Mbarara City and CATDA in the round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
First, holders Kitara make a trip to Bugolobi Coffee where regional side CATDA are lurking.
With the Royals in distant 5th on the UPL log, fifteen points behind leaders Vipers, their only hope of winning a trophy is in the Uganda Cup.
“We are not undermining CATDA because in a knock out competition, you can’t take any team lightly,” said Wasswa Bbosa, Kitara coach.
For the Venoms who are enjoying a decent time since the appointment of John Luyinda to their technical staff, a fixture at home against Mbarara City gives them advantage.
Fresh from overcoming KCCA in the league, they will look to dismantle Livingstone Mbabazi’s Ankole Lions and book a place in the last 16.
Elsewhere, Kaaro Karungi hosts Busia Youngsters in an all-lower league clash.
Rwenzori Lions, SC Villa and Total FC from Yumbe all booked their places in the next round at the expense of Buhimba Saints, Simba and Express respectively.
