Cooper DeJean fancies his chances with Caitlin Clark.

The Philadelphia Eagles cornerback is coming off a Super Bowl-winning rookie season that included an epic pick-6 against Patrick Mahomes in 2025’s big game, leading to one commentator’s electric call.

DeJean and the Eagles’ victory over the Chiefs was a bitter blow for WNBA phenom Clark, who is a big fan of Kansas City.

The defensive back and Clark share a similar background, having come out of the University of Iowa in 2024.

DeJea played for the Hawkeyes’ men’s football team from 2021 to 2023 while Clark was with the Hawkeyes women’s basketball team from 2020 to 2024.

DeJean recently spoke with Chris Hassel of CBS Sports where he was asked who could play against him and Clark in a hypothetical 2-on-2 basketball game.

“We’ll take on anybody. Anybody you throw at us and I don’t think it’ll be close. I think me on her on the same team, it’d be an almost unstoppable duo,” the Philly star said.

Hassel suggested various WNBA-NFL duos they could go up against, including Clark’s longtime rival Angel Reese.

“(Minnesota Vikings wide receiver) Justin Jefferson and (Chicago Sky forward) Angel Reese versus Cooper and Caitlin?” asked Hassel.

“I’m taking us over anybody! No matter who you say,” replied DeJean.

“OK, how about this? (Cleveland Browns defensive end) Myles Garrett and (Las Vegas Aces center) A’Ja Wilson?”

“Yeah, that would be tough. I like us, no matter what. Those are two pretty big people, it’d be tough for us being guards and all.”

DeJean beat Mahomes and the Chiefs in the New Orleans Superdome while also sending Clark into NFL misery.

“Hopefully we can (break her heart),” DeJean joked ahead of Super Bowl LIX.

DeJean, who played four sports in high school, once teased that he could beat Clark in a game of 1-on-1.

“I think I can,” said DeJean, who is set to appear in a new podcast entitled ‘Exciting Whites’ with teammate Reed Blankenship.

“She’d probably score a few buckets on me but I think I could pull it off.”

The 6ft and 198lb Eagles rookie received social media blowback for those bold words, but his basketball highlights reel shows he might actually be able to hang with the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year.

Now, DeJean and Clark are at the center of the pro sports world and putting Iowa on a global map.

Appearing on ‘The Pivot’ podcast, DeJean revealed the message Clark sent him following the Eagles’ Super Bowl win against the Chiefs.

“I think us going to Iowa together, she [Caitlin Clark] was just saying that she was proud of me,” shared DeJean.

“I appreciate her for that, sending that message even though she’s a Chiefs fan.”

The Eagles star added it was “cool to get that message from her.”
