Travis Kelce’s NFL future has dominated discussion in recent weeks.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, now 35, has a major decision to make ahead of the 2025 season.

One of the greatest to ever play his position, Kelce can choose to retire from the league as a three-time Super Bowl champion, or he can perhaps suit up for one more year.

It is not yet clear when the NFL star will announce his decision but, according to his older brother, it’s one that has already been made.

On Friday, Jason Kelce appeared on The Steam Room podcast with Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson.

During the discussion, he addressed his brother’s thought process and suggested that Travis already knows what his future holds.

“‘I think he probably, in his heart, already knows what he wants to do,” Jason revealed.

“That’s the reality of it.

“I’m sure we will talk about it. We’ve already talked about it a little bit, and I’m sure he’s going to go through a process of figuring that out.

“We’re very similar people, but we also have different ways of thinking about things. Sometimes I can way overanalyze situations, and my brother has this way of being like, ‘Hey man, you want to play or you don’t want to play.’

“He’ll say something like that where it’s just like, ‘Don’t worry about all of these minor things.’ And nine times out of ten, he’s right about all of it.”

Travis has been with the Chiefs since 2013, and has achieved almost everything there is to do on a football field.

Alongside his three Super Bowl rings, the 35-year-old also boasts a string of NFL and franchise records, including the most receiving yards and touchdown receptions for Kansas City.

But the Chiefs were denied a historic three-peat by Jason’s former team in Super Bowl LIX, and days after that humbling 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Travis hinted that it might be time to step away.

“The process can be gruelling,” he said of contemplating retirement earlier this month.

“It can weigh on you. It can make you better and it can drive you crazy at the same time.

“It was one of those things that was kind of driving me crazy this year.

“The fact that we keep going to these AFC Championships and these Super Bowls, that means that I’m playing in an extra three games more than everybody else in the entire league.

“That’s a lot of wear and tear on your body. It’s a lot of time spent in the building.”

While Kelce has remained tight-lipped over his future, the Chiefs are said to want a decision by March 14.

And if he does choose to return, he may be playing a reduced role, with Kansas City choosing not to run their offense through the 12-year pro, who will turn 36 in October.
