Wednesday horse racing tips

  • BANGOR
    1.55: Casa No Mento 4/6 (1.5pts)
  • WETHERBY
    2.15: Wade Out 1/1 (1.5pts)
    2.45: Support Act 2/1 (1pt)
  • KEMPTON
    6.00: Batal Dubai 7/1 each-way (1pt)
    7.30: Opera Ballo 4/5 (1.5pts)

Casa No Mento

Down in grade for her second chase start but receives a stone in weight from Cabhfuilfungi who has been going fairly well over fences.

Even still it would take a very poor return to fences for Casa No Mento to not make the most of this weight advantage even if she doesn’t run to her best.

She’s rated 11lb higher than her main market rival over hurdles and was far from disgraced when 6/1 on chase debut at Bangor in November.

Wade Out

Close behind Celtic Dino at Ascot in November before winning well at odds-on at Lingfield.

Something was clearly amiss last time out finishing seventh of seven but if he’s back in shape and form he should win this comfortably ahead of another unexposed hurdler.

Wade Out trained by Olly Murphy is in better form than his rivals in this race too and with the Sean Bowen combo he’s a worthy strong favourite.

Support Act

Won very well at evens back in February 2024 before clearly not going right at Cheltenham in October on return and as a result went swiftly off to get a wind op.

Support Act then returned to race for just the third time since the start of 2024 and went respectably fourth behind Jasmin De Grugy.

With that under his belt and potentially lesser rivals here he’s got a huge chance at a nice price.

Cheltenham Festival tips

Batal Dubai

Taryn Langley is up on this gelding to help claim 7lb and this horse appeals massively each-way even without the apprentice on board.

The five-year-old wasn’t quite with it last time he raced here but was a close second to Fivethousandtoone when 8lb higher at 6f back in February of last year.

This horse has only raced once over 7f and that finished in a win back in December and it’s clear he’s in good form coming into this race.

Opera Ballo

These are the horses you always want to keep an eye out for and this race should hold some top contenders for the upcoming flat season.

The favourite is a typical big purchase from Godolphin who was acquired for 600,000 euros.

This colt won by a distance last month over course and distance and comes into this a strong worthy favourite.
