Manchester United managed to claw their way back from being 2-0 down at Everton on Saturday lunchtime to rescue a point to prevent their third Premier League defeat in a row, and a third in four in all competitions.

Ruben Amorim’s side have continued to struggle since the Portuguese took over from Erik ten Hag back in November, with the Red Devils currently level on points with 16th placed West Ham, with only 30 points to their name from their 26 games played.

The Manchester side prepare for the visit of Ipswich tonight having lost five of their last six Premier League games at Old Trafford, their only win in that time coming against a rock bottom Southampton side, and even then needed a late comeback to prevent defeat.

Tonight sees them take on an Ipswich side who have picked up only one point from their last six Premier League outings, and are without a win in their last seven.

Kieran McKenna, who joined the Tractor Boys from his role as assistant manager at Manchester United, lost ground in the battle to avoid relegation of the weekend, with their defeat and Wolves’ win now leaving the Suffolk side five points from safety and with a far inferior goal difference to the teams around them.

The East Anglian side have fared better away from home than they have on the road this season though, with three wins in their last eight matches in all competitions, including only one defeat from their last four, so will travel to Old Trafford to take on a severely underfiring United side with a good deal confidence.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw when the sides met at Portman Road earlier in the season, in what was Amorim’s first game in charge of the Red Devils.
