Rwanda’s APR continued its impressive run in the CAVB Zone V Club Championship, hosted in Kampala, Uganda, with a dominant 3-0 victory over KAVC at the Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday.
The oldest volleyball club in Uganda, KAVC, fought hard to stay in the game but ultimately found the challenge too steep against a well-oiled APR side.
In the opening set, KAVC struggled to handle APR’s powerful attacks, falling behind by seven points (25-18).
The Ugandan side showed significant improvement in the second set, going toe-to-toe with APR at 19-19 before the Rwandan team pulled away to win it 25-22.
The final set followed a similar pattern, with KAVC battling throughout but ultimately losing by a narrow margin of 25-23, sealing APR’s straight-set victory.
On Day three of the tournament, KAVC will face Cobra SC from South Sudan, while APR will take on Prisons in their next match.
