Barcelona vs Real Sociedad predictions

Barcelona warmed up for Sunday’s La Liga showdown with Sociedad with an eight-goal thriller in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday night.

The 4-4 draw with Atletico at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys will feel more like a defeat. Barca went 2-0 down inside the first ten minutes but fought back well and led 4-2 with just over five minutes remaining.

After doing all the hard work, Flick’s team switched off and conceded two late goals. It was only the first leg of their semi-final, but the Catalans have now surrendered the initiative by chucking away a two-goal lead ahead of the away leg.

Things are going far better in the league. A run of five successive La Liga wins has seen the Catalans retake the top spot in the table ahead of the two Madrid clubs.

Barca are on 54 points from 25 matches. They are only ahead of Real on goal difference and Atletico by one point. Furthermore, the Catalans will likely be third when they kick off with their rivals playing on Saturday.

In their last La Liga outing, Barca defeated Las Palmas 2-0 in the Gran Canaria Stadium. Dani Olmo opened the scoring after 62 minutes. Ferran Torres added the second five minutes into stoppage time.

Similar to Barcelona, Real Sociedad were also in Copa del Rey semi-final action in midweek.

Unlike Barca, Sociedad lost, going down 1-0 to Real Madrid in the first leg at home on Tuesday.

Imanol Alguacil’s team is ninth in La Liga with 34 points from 25 matches. They have been inconsistent in recent weeks, losing four of their last six.

But the White and Blues have started to turn the corner by winning two of their last three.

A 2-1 win over Espanyol on Matchday 23 in San Sebastian ended a three-match losing skid.

There was a setback with a 3-0 defeat away at Real Betis the following week.

Then on Sunday, Alguacil’s team defeated Leganes 3-0 at the Reale Arena, with goals from Arsen Zakharyan, Takefusa Kubo and Jon Ander Olasagasti sealing a comprehensive win.

Barcelona vs Real Sociedad betting tips

Barcelona and Real Sociedad meet on Matchday 26 of La Liga. The Catalans are favourites to win and get revenge for their 1-0 defeat to the White and Blues on Matchday 13. Our match betting tips are below.

Barcelona to win and no in both teams to score

Sociedad have been inconsistent on the road. They have four wins from 12 matches, drawing two and losing six. Furthermore, they have failed to score in seven of those matches.

With only 23 goals scored, they are also one of the lowest scorers in La Liga.

Barcelona have kept three clean sheets in their last four La Liga matches. A win for Hansi Flick’s team to nil looks the most likely outcome.

⚽ Back Barcelona to win and no in BTTS at 20/21 with CopyBet ⚽

Barcelona to score over 2.5 goals

Despite having one of the best defences in La Liga, Real Sociedad hasn’t been so watertight in recent weeks.

The White and Blues have conceded ten goals in their last six La Liga matches. It’s incomparable with the rest of their La Liga season, where they only conceded 13 goals in their first 19 matches.

Five of those ten goals were conceded in Sociedad’s last two away matches. They let in two at Osasuna and shipped three at Real Betis on their latest road trip.

Barcelona has just put four past Atletico (by far the meanest defence in Spain) in the Copa del Rey and will be confident after scoring 16 goals in their last five La Liga matches.

Barcelona are 3/10 to score over 1.5 goals. That’s not worth bothering with at those odds. Instead, back Flick’s team to score three or more at better than even money.

⚽ Back Barcelona to score over 2.5 goals at 23/20 with SBK ⚽

Raphinha to score or assist

Raphinha is 5/2 to provide an assist against Sociedad. That is very tempting.

The Brazilian is having an outstanding season for Barca. He has 24 goals and 18 assists for the Catalans in all competitions.

The reason for the temptation to just back him to assist is because he hasn’t scored in his last three matches for Barca, but he has provided three assists for the team.

But, the moment we back him to only assist, he will no doubt score. So in a way, backing him to just score at 6/5 might make more sense.

Anyway, with two assists in the Copa del Rey against Atletico and one in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Las Palmas, there is nothing wrong with Raphinha’s form.

So to cover both bases, I’m just going for him to score or assist at 3/5. This bet is as short as 2/5 and 1/2 with other bookmakers, so grab it here at these better odds.
