Striker Brian Aheebwa, formerly of Mbarara City, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and lately Kitara Football Club has officially moved to Ethiopia.
This comes after a signing a year-long employment contract with Ethiopian topflight entity Arba Minch City Football Club.
For starters, Arba Minch city is located about 430KM south of the capital, Addis Ababa.
This will be the home for Aheebwa for the next 365 days as he works his way to elevation for greener pastures in Ethiopia or elsewhere.
It goes without a saying therefore that Aheebwa will return home with a far bigger pay cheque than he has earned at any of his former clubs in Uganda per month.
Definitely, this will call for full professionalism at all times as he aspires to climb higher in his otherwise budding football career.
“…As I embark on my new adventure, allow me to wish you all the best in the future” he wrote in a heart-felt message as bid farewell to his family at Kitara Football Club and general fan base at large.

Aheebwa won the prestigious Stanbic Uganda Cup (FA Cup) with Kitara Football Club last term and played continental football in the CAF Confederation Cup.
He has also been capped twice with the national senior team (Uganda Cranes) and looks forward making double figure caps with a hundred plus goals.
Over the years, Ethiopia has been a great poaching ground and preparatory confine for several Ugandan footballers as they get ushered into professional football.
Right from the days of goalkeepers Hannington Kalyesubula, Denis Onyango and Robert Odongkara through the contemporary times of Mike Sserumaga, Robert Ssentongo, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda and Yasser Mugerwa, Ethiopia has warmly welcomed the talented crop of Ugandans.

At the moment, a reasonable number of Ugandans are featuring in the Ethiopia top flight football division.
Among these include Martin Kizza Lubwama, at Fasil Kenema, Simon Peter Oketch (Commerical Bank of Ethiopia), Geofrey Wasswa (Ethiopian Bunna), goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi (Defense Force Football Club), Charles Musiige (Diradawa), Thomas Ikara (Sidama Bunna), among others.
