Stuart Lubwama, hitherto known by the majority as “Musomesa” is a teacher by profession.

Lubwama was born and raised in Entebbe Municipality. He keenly harbors a realistic dream of leading his people as they discover and nurture their respective talents.

“I want to inspire the youth of Entebbe to take up the responsibility of reigniting Entebbe which was the country’s first capital city. One way is by taking up leadership and also develop, discover, and nurture their talents.” He asserts.

Upon this background, Lubwama has organized the first edition of the Lubwama Cup 2024, slated to be held between October and December this year.

This will entail football and netball; and will be held across the entire Entebbe Municipality in the two divisions; A and B.

Format of play:

The Lubwama Cup 2024 will be played in group stages, with each ward forming a group.

Division A will have two groups; Katabi and Central Ward with the best two teams that have majority points qualify for the quarterfinals.

The top placed in the Katabi group will number the runners up from Central Ward and vice-versa.

The same will be for division B; with Kiggungu and Kiwafu wards.

Prizes:

The organizing committee for the tournament has put in place a number of prizes ranging from sets of jerseys, a bull, medals, cash prizes, balls to certificates and many more to the exceling teams and individual persons.

Lubwama the politician:

As a resident of Entebbe Municipality for close to three decades now, Lubwama has virtually seen it all.

Reliable sources indicate that he will be vying for the Entebbe Municipality member of parliament seat on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket.

The ground work has been laid and this tournament is envisaged as one way of handsomely paying back to the youth, rallying them together and mobilizing them through recreation activities as sports (football and netball).

For the youth to believe that even us as youth can make things happen, regardless of our age. Therefore, each one needs to handle themselves with care and keep ourselves hopeful that we are the new generation of the now times. We have to lobby jobs for the educated and resourceful youth, of Entebbe who are majorly unemployed, yet Entebbe harbors a lot of installments that can really employ us.
