Ryan Reynolds saw the funny side of Paul Mullin’s ‘bite’ claims after the striker defended himself on social media.
Mullin was a second-half substitute in the Red Dragons’ 3-1 defeat at Birmingham on Monday night in front of a sold-out crowd at St Andrews.

The Wrexham star appeared to shape up to bite Cochrane, but thought better of it
Wrexham’s early lead, courtesy of Jack Marriott, was soon wiped out by two-goal hero Jay Stansfield before Tomoki Iwata put the game out of reach for the Blues.
Plenty of famous faces were in attendance for the much-anticipated clash including Tom Brady, David Beckham and Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney, who watched on as Wrexham slipped to their first defeat of the season.
However, a tussle between Mullin and Birmingham’s Alex Cochrane got pulses rising late on.
Cochrane came close to treading on Mullins head in the scramble which bizarrely prompted Mullin to open his mouth in preparation to bite the Birmingham defender’s calf.
He quickly changed his mind on doing so and took to social media after the game where he reacted to a video of the incident, saying: “I know what it looks like… but it didn’t happen.
“Although you can tell his leg was thinking about attacking my mouth.”
Players from both teams became embroiled in the melee that followed Mullin’s actions with James McClean among those given a yellow card.
Wrexham co-owner Reynold’s was not in attendance at St Andrew’s, but was active on social media during and after the clash.
Reacting to Mullins’ social media post, Reynolds brilliantly posted on X: “#Welshpool”, sandwiched between two laughing emojis.
It came after Mullin recently played a surprise role in Marvel’s latest film Deadpool & Wolverine.

The striker made a masked cameo under the name Welshpool – a Welsh take on Reynolds’ Deadpool character.
While plenty of football fans took to social media to comment on Mullin’s ‘bite’, Cochrane was quick to play down the incident.
Speaking about it in his post-match interview, he remarked: “I don’t really know to be honest, I was on the floor.
“I think it was just a bit of handbags, out of nothing, but not too much. Just a load of nonsense, really!”
While Wrexham missed out on the chance to extend their lead at the top of League One table, Reynolds didn’t appear to be too disappointed.
The defeat to Birmingham leaves the Blues level with the Welsh outfit on 13 points.
In a separate social media post, Reynolds wrote: “Tough loss to a good club.
“Congrats @bcfc @tombrady on the win. Lots of season yet to go. Up the town. Now and forever.”
Wrexham are eyeing an instant return to winning ways at home to Crawley Town on Saturday.
