Three 3pm kick offs in the Premier League take place on Saturday afternoon, including runaway leaders Liverpool taking on the league’s bottom side Southampton looking to extend their 13 point lead at the top of the table against a Saints side 15 points from safety.

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace look to continue their strong form of eight wins from their last 10 matches in all competitions as they host an Ipswich side who have lost seven of their last eight games against Premier League opposition.

Meanwhile Brighton head into the weekend having won each of their last five matches since their 7-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest, looking to close what is now just a three point gap to the top five as they welcome Fulham to the Amex.

In the Championship, automatic promotion chasers Sheffield United and Burnley will be looking to close the gap on league leaders Leeds, who don’t play until Sunday, as they take on bottom half stragglers Preston and bottom three dwelling Luton respectively.

Sunderland have lost ground on the battle for the top two in recent weeks but still have a firm hold of fourth place ahead of their hosting of relegation battling Cardiff, while Bristol City, level on points with the play-offs after back to back wins, host 19th placed Hull.

In League One, leaders Birmingham and third place Wrexham continue their push towards promotion to the second tier as they both welcome midtable sides Lincoln and Rotherham respectively, neither of whom have much to play for in the final quarter of the season.

In the fourth tier, Chesterfield will be looking for their third league win in their last four home games against a Newport side who just one win away from home since October, with only Tranmere having won fewer matches on the road this season than the Welsh side.
