With Clark cheering them on, the Hawkeyes beat Michigan State 74-64 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Conference in a upset victory.
The win also served as Iowa’s 11th straight conference tournament win and sees them set up a rematch with No. 8-ranked and third-seeded Ohio State in the next round.
Lucy Olson starred for Iowa as she scored 12 points and recorded nine assists, with one being a pass for a final-minute three-pointer that Kyle Ferubach scored that caused the arena to erupt in Indianapolis.
Just as for their first round game against Wisconsin, Hawkeye legends Clark and Lisa Bluder were in attendance.
The Indiana Fever star was a spectator sitting courtside but that didn’t stop her from getting animated throughout the game.
Clark brought her passionate on-court behaviour to the game and seemed to engage in several exchanges toward the officials.
At one point, she was caught on camera appearing to scream at a referee, saying “That’s a bad call!”
Although she seemed to have forgiven the referees quickly after as when Iowa player Ava Heiden made a layup and got a foul call, Clark showed her appreciation.
Giving the officials a double thumbs-up when they walked past her.
With videos of the night circulating, fans were quick to react to her antics on the sidelines.

“Can you imagine her as a coach one day? She will out Mulkey herself,” one fan posted on X referencing infamous LSU head coach Kim Mulkey.
“This is fantastic,” another fan said, praising the compilation video of Clark cheering her teammates.
The entire night was a reminder of just how passionate Clark is about Iowa and it’s no wonder why she became a superstar while with the programme.
In her last season for Iowa, the Hawkeyes went 34-5 to cap a remarkable four years in which she broke multiple records.
As a senior in 2024, Clark became the all-time leading scorer in Division I basketball, men’s or women’s, finishing with 3,951 points.
The 23-year-old was also was national player of the year in each of her last two years.
Clark also became Iowa’s all-time leading scorer and the Big Ten’s all time leader in assists.
When drafted to the Fever as the No.1 overall pick, Clark settled in quickly and had a stellar debut season for the franchise, winning Rookie of the Year.
We’ll likely see more of Clark at Iowa games and therefore more passionate antics from the sidelines as she looks to spur on her former side to a conference championship.
