Some mock drafts have Shedeur Sanders’ name off the board before the fourth pick is made.
Others have pushed Deion Sanders‘ son into the bottom of the first round, turning the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback into the most divisive prospect in the draft.

“You’re kind of waiting to see who’s going to be left standing, and it might be him (Sanders),” ESPN NFL Draft analyst Matt Miller exclusively told talkSPORT.
One team in the top 10 of the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft badly needs a new franchise QB — and has the front-office star power to balance anything that Coach Prime says or does in the coming years.
Former New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers has been linked to the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants and Las Vegas, among others, in free agency.
The Raiders’ trade for former Seattle Seahawks starter Geno Smith took Rodgers’ name off Tom Brady‘s potential QB wish list.
But when Rodgers’ NFL future was mentioned, current Jets linebacker Quincy Williams acknowledged that college prospects have a huge role in how teams design their long-term futures.
“We’ve got to see how the draft goes,” Williams exclusively told talkSPORT last week.
“I’ve been hearing Shedeur going to the Raiders.”
The veteran linebacker quickly clarified that Sanders in silver-and-black was through “media” chatter.
“It’s more like at-the-table talking,” a laughing Williams said. “At the dinner table talking.”
Whether Williams leaked Las Vegas’ big draft plans or simply repeated what he’d heard, Sanders to the Raiders at No. 6 overall appeared to make perfect sense before head coach Pete Carroll was reunited with Smith.

“That’s where I thought he (Sanders) was going before Saturday, when the trades happened,” Miller said.
“That was why I kind of penciled him in it. Like, ‘OK, well, if he doesn’t go one or two or three, he’ll go six now.’
“But it does get harder to find that landing spot for Shedeur, just because of the musical chairs at the quarterback position.”
Potential No. 1 pick Cam Ward is also dividing draft experts.
He tops a recent ESPN mock draft and has the talent to be a Week 1 starter in 2025.
But Ward has ‘technical issues’ and could soon be ‘overdrafted.’
“I personally have Shedeur Sanders rated above Cam Ward,” NFL Draft analyst Simon Clancy exclusively told talkSPORT.
“But I would suspect that Ward will go over Sanders, just because of some peripheral, off-the-field stuff.”
The former Colorado QB and current top-10 prospect received an NIL valuation of $5.1 million last year and was attached to a Rolls Royce valued at $400,000.
Sanders has been linked in recent mock drafts with the Giants (No. 3), Jets (No. 7) and Raiders.
Deion has been hinting for months that he doesn’t want his son to waste his early pro years playing for a pathetic football team – or in a bitterly cold city during the winter months.
“There’s teams I didn’t wanna play for,” Deion recently said on the Dan Patrick Show. “I’m a real dad that has a lot of information about the NFL. … I know what’s behind the curtain.”
Miller believes that the Giants, Jets and Saints (No. 9) could be landing spots for Sanders.
But there’s also the potential that the prospect with the most star power in the 2025 draft falls to the bottom of the first round as he keeps waiting to hear his famous name called.
“You get into the teens, that’s where his night could get long,” Miller said.
“Because the teams in the teens are a lot of those — they’re on the edge. They’re kind of a fringe building team.
“Or you have teams that like San Francisco, took a shocking step back last year, that wouldn’t draft a quarterback.
“So if he makes it past nine, then I think you look at, see what Pittsburgh does at 21. Let’s see what the Rams do at 26. But that’s where you could maybe see a bit of a fall for him.”
