Lamine Yamal has inscribed his name into the Champions League history books in what’s been a stunning display for Barcelona.
The Spain starlet assisted Raphinha for their opening goal in their last 16 second leg clash against Benfica before scoring a delightful goal later in the first half.

After Nicolas Otamendi equalised on the night, Yamal produced a moment of magic in the 27th minute to restore the lead.
He curled in a beautiful effort from just outside the area with a flicked strike that left Anatoliy Trubin helpless in the Benfica goal.
Yamal has now become the youngest player in Champions League history to both score and assist a goal in a match.
He has done so at the age of just 17 years and 241 days.
If Barcelona go through, Yamal will break Julian Draxler’s record for the most Champions League knockout round appearances before turning 18 with seven should he play in the quarter-finals.
Raphinha added his second of the night before the break to leave Barca firmly in control of the tie with a 4-1 aggregate lead after a 1-0 first leg win.
Yamal’s goal is his third in the Champions League this season for the Spanish giants.
He first netted in their 2-1 defeat to Monaco before finding the target against Atalanta in the league phase.
The teenager is now on 12 goals for the campaign in all competitions, with his assist the 17th he has provided.
Yamal, who starred for Spain at Euro 2024, could be on his way to a Champions League triumph in the coming months.

This would add to the already extensive list of his accolades, including LaLiga and Euros titles alongside the Golden Boy and Kopa Trophy.
Barcelona will face the winners of Lille vs Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals by beating Benfica.
Hansi Flick’s side haven’t won the Champions League since 2015 and only reached the semi-finals once in the following years.
An appearance in the final this year could also see them face their rivals Real Madrid in an El Clasico clash.
However, they must first get over the line against Benfica and take on the quarter-finals, with Yamal once again the star of the show.
