Chelsea have begun to hit form again with four consecutive wins following a run of three defeats last month, with their progression into the quarter finals of the Conference League now cemented. Kieran Tierney, Mikel Merino and Raheem Sterling started in the attack with Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri all on the bench. Zinchenko performed admirably in a new central midfield role, scoring six minutes in to give Arsenal the lead, with Declan Rice scoring his second in as many games to put them 2-1 up, before PSV pulled one back once again.
The Gunners’ most recent home league game against West Ham saw them lose at the Emirates for the first time this season. That loss has since started a run of three league games without a win for Mikel Arteta’s side inevitably ending their Premier League title hopes.
Chelsea have won just one of the last 11 meetings between the London clubs, with their most recent match up in November ending one a piece. A goal from Gabriel Martinelli, who could return to the starting line up on Sunday following his injury last month, opened the scoring on the hour mark, with Pedro Neto replying with a strike from distance 10 minutes later.
