Celtic v Rangers prediction

The Bhoys are having an incredible season, sitting sixteen points clear of Rangers at the top of the Premiership and are now through to the semi-final of the Scottish FA Cup following their 2-0 win against Hibernian last week. Daizen Maeda opened the scoring 39 minutes in before Adam Idah secured the victory in added time.

Celtic have won all but one of their 14 home league games this season, losing none, scoring 48 and conceding just three.

Rangers also head into the Old Firm on a high, despite losing 2-0 on the night to Fenerbahce, Barry Ferguson’s men progressed into the quarter-finals of the Europa League thanks to heroics from goalkeeper Jack Butland in the penalty shoot-out.

The Gers have won their last four trips away from Ibrox scoring 13 goals in the process, and have lost just once away from home in the league since October.

The last meeting between the two sides saw Rangers come out comfortable 3-0 winners, with goals from Ianis Hagi, Robin Propper and Danilo securing all three points.

Their midweek Europa League clash going to extra time would’ve taken a lot out of the Rangers players and despite their win last time out, Rangers have won just twice against their rivals in 15 previous attempts, making a home win the most likely outcome.

Celtic v Rangers betting tips

Celtic forward Daizen Maeda has scored 12 goals in his last 10 games taking his total this season to 27 in all competitions. The Japanese international has scored on two separate occasions against Rangers already this season.

Only one of the last seven meetings between Celtic and Rangers has ended with less than three goals and it has been 35 meetings since the last goalless draw, so expect the two top scorers in the Scottish Premiership to continue in the same vein.
