Fiorentina vs Juventus predictions
Faltering Fiorentina will hope a battered and bruised Juventus are there for the taking when they clash at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday.
La Viola have had a torrid time of late in Serie A, picking up just one win in their last five. Their drop off in form has been alarming, with the team starting the match week in eighth place, having been fourth just over a month ago.
Raffaele Palladino’s team have had the distraction of European commitments to deal with. And given his team’s league form in recent weeks, their progression in the Europa Conference League has been a godsend for Palladino.
The Viola defeated Panathinaikos 3-1 in Florence on Thursday night. The win secured a five goals to four aggregate victory for the Serie A team.
NK Celje from the Slovenian PrvaLiga await Palladino’s team in the quarter-final. This makes an extended run in Europe look all the more likely, which should keep the media off the head coach’s back for the immediate future.
Where do we start with Juventus?
Seven days ago, the Old Lady were officially back in the Serie A title race. But what a difference a week makes, as there is now talk that head coach Thiago Motta could be sacked if his team loses on Sunday.
Juventus have just suffered their worst home defeat since 1967. The Old Lady were battered 4-0 by Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday.
A win would have put Juve in with a real shot of winning the Scudetto. Even a draw wouldn’t have been the worst result, so losing was a real setback.
But it’s not just the defeat (that left Juve nine points behind leaders Inter) that was the problem, it’s the manner of the defeat. Juventus were played off the park and embarrassed.
Atalanta had 19 shots on goal to Juve’s nine. The visitors hit the target nine times, the hosts just twice. It was an utter humiliation for Motta, who had seemingly turned the corner with his team after winning their previous five.
But, for all the doom and gloom, it was only Juve’s second defeat of the season. They are still fourth in the league and favourites to claim the final Champions League position. Things really aren’t that bad, just yet!

Fiorentina vs Juventus betting tips
A once promising season for Fiorentina is fast disappearing down the pan. The Viola have just three points from their last five matches. It will be interesting to see if, or how, Juventus have recovered from last Sunday’s humbling. The outcome of this match could depend on how Motta’s men respond. Our match tips are below:
Juventus to win (draw no bet)
We expect to see a response from Juventus. They are away from all the hysteria in Turin, allowing them to focus solely on their football.
Furthermore, they are up against a Fiorentina team who are low on confidence. Two of their recent four defeats have been against Napoli and Inter, but they’ve also lost to Como and worse still, a struggling Verona.

The Europa Conference League can be blamed as a distraction. But it can’t be the sole reason for such a poor run of results.
Juve have only lost twice this season. They are 1/4 to win or draw in the double chance market, which looks too short.
We are backing them to win in the draw no bet market, and hoping at the very least, they avoid a repeat of last Sunday.
Back Juve to win in the draw no bet market at 8/15 with Sky Bet
Under 2.5 goals
This isn’t a bet I usually like, but with both teams under pressure, there could be more of an onus placed on not losing this match, than trying to win it.
The fixture has a look of 1-0 or 1-1 about it. Fiorentina has scored just four goals in their last five Serie A matches, and Juve have only scored four in their last four matches.
Juve’s last three wins were 2-0, 1-0 and 1-0, with under 2.5 goals the outcome in three of both teams’ last four matches.
Back under 2.5 goals at 8/13 with Casumo
Moise Kean to have 1+ shots on target
We’re not expecting many goals in this match, so there seems little point backing anyone to score.
One bet which did jump out is Paddy Power offering 4/6 on Fiorentina’s Moise Kean to have one or more shots on target.
The 25-year-old has had a decent season for the Viola. He has scored 15 goals in 25 matches for his club in Serie A, but he has none in his last three.
Kean is 11/4 to score anytime if you’re feeling bullish. He did find the net in Fiorentina’s 3-1 Conference League win over Panathinaikos on Thursday, so he will be more confident when he faces Motta’s outfit.
But with Juve strong at the back, we’re just backing him to have at least one shot on target.
Back Moise Kean to have one or more shots on target at 4/6 with Paddy Power
