Bruno Guimaraes was unable to control his emotions after helping Newcastle end their 70-year trophy drought.
The Magpies captain broke down in floods of tears on the pitch at Wembley Stadium after beating Liverpool.

Goals from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak delivered Eddie Howe’s side their first major domestic trophy since 1955.
Guimaraes was visibly emotional following the final whistle as he dropped to his knees on the turf.
The midfielder was then mobbed by his teammates before retrieving a scarf from the crowd.
After composing himself, Guimaraes told Sky Sports: “It’s all for these fans. They deserve everything. When I first came here I said I wanted to put my name in history.
“We can now say we are the champions again. This is one of the best days of my life.
“I don’t have any words. It’s the best day of my life. For them [the fans] it’s like the World Cup.
“People have grown up and not seen us as champions. My first year as captain of this club and it’s one of the best days. This is unbelievable.
“This is my second home. We are making history. Some day when I leave this club I want the fans to sing my name the way they do to (Alan) Shearer. He text me before the game. I’m so emotional today.”
Club legend Alan Shearer was in the crowd at Wembley, having himself been unable to end their wait for a trophy during his ten-year spell as a player.
Guimaraes joined the Magpies from Lyon in 2022 and had already faced cup final heartache two years ago.

The 27-year-old started Newcastle’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester United in the same competition, playing 78 minutes on that occasion.
However, he has finally helped bring silverware back to St. James’ Park after ending a run of five domestic cup final defeats for the Toon Army.
Guimaraes continued to hold back tears as he applauded the Newcastle supporters in the stands.
As he pounded his chest, he could be seen telling the fans: “You deserve, you deserve, I love you man.”
The Brazilian went on to lift the trophy aloft as the party in the Newcastle end showed no signs of stopping.
He was joined by fellow club captains Jamaal Lascelles and Kieran Trippier in another emotional moment.

Sunday’s final was the 144th appearance of Guimaraes’ Newcastle career, dating back to his arrival three years ago.
His side are also now guaranteed European football next season, qualifying for the Conference League with their cup triumph.
