Luke Humphies has been hailed as ‘the classiest guy in darts’ as he looks to make the dreams come true of a fan who has been bullied.

The world no.1 has made a generous offer to 14-year-old Alex McGarrie after learning of the difficulties he was suffering.

Alex has been pulled out of his school in Stockport as a result of being repeatedly assaulted by groups of thugs.

Diagnosed with autism, Alex’s parents say that he’d become a target for bullies who have left him with marks and bruises.

Having been hit multiple times on video by other pupils, the youngster has been withdrawn from Hazel Grove High School.

According to the Manchester Evening News, that is due to both police and the school not taking any preventative action.

Upon hearing the 14-year-old’s struggles, Humphies couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

Left upset after reading about the incessant bullying Alex is victim of, the Newbury-born star stepped up with a special offer for the young darts fan.

That’s because Humphries has arranged for Alex and his family to attend the Premier League event in Manchester on April 10.

Not only will he be at the high-profile event, but the world no.1 has arranged for him to meet his darts’ heroes, including Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen.

Humphries said: “I will speak to the PDC this week when in Cardiff and see if we can get him some tickets and a chance to meet all the players in Manchester, if that suits?

“No one likes a bully, hope he’s OK and send him my best wishes.”

As you’d expect, fans were full of praise upon hearing of Humphries’ kind gesture.

One supporter said: “Class act, total respect.

“That’s exactly how a world No1 should be: an inspiration.”

A second fan wrote: “You are a fantastic player and a class act, keep it up.”

“You are an absolute gent,” added a third.

Meanwhile a fourth described Humphries as: “One of the classiest guys in darts.”

Humphries is next in action on Night Seven of the Premier League Darts in Nottingham on Thursday.

He will face Van Gerwen in the quarter-final in the hope leapfrogging Littler to move from second to first in this year’s Premier League table.
