Irish strawweight Shauna Bannon mounted a miraculous comeback victory at UFC London.
The 31-year-old was sent tumbling to the canvas by a massive head kick from her opponent Puja Tomar in the second round.

Yet Bannon showed immense grit as she locked in an arm bar to secure a submission win when her rival followed her down the ground.
The victory moved Bannon to 2-1 inside the UFC Octagon while Tomar fell to 1-1.
A lifelong martial artist with a background in kickboxing and Taekwondo, Bannon entered the UFC with a perfect 5-0 record in 2023 after a successful stint in Invicta FC.
Upon signing with MMA’s premier promotion, she landed a sponsorship from fellow countryman Conor McGregor.
However, her debut against Bruna Brasil didn’t go to plan.
Bannon dropped a unanimous decision in a tentative display that left a lot to be desired.
The Dublin scrapper described it as her toughest fight to date and admitted she ‘couldn’t get going’.
One year later, she returned to face Romania’s Alice Ardelean in Manchester.
It was another low-output performance, although this time she got her hand raised via split decision.
Ahead of her third outing against Tomar, her output increased considerably as she pushed the pace throughout the contest.

She also showed a substantial improvement in the grappling department when they went to the ground in round two.
Post-fight an ecstatic ‘Mama B’ said: “Can we get a 50 grand bonus?
“I knew her best thing was the sidekick and the overhand but I outdone her sidekicks.
“I knew she was tough and I knew she had grit but I knew whatever it took I was going to get that win.
“I got dropped and then I got a finish.”
