Footage has emerged showing Kylian Mbappe’s reaction to France’s clash with Croatia being delayed.

Kick-off in Sunday’s Nations League quarter-final second leg was briefly held up at the Stade de France.

The delay was caused by the remote control car delivering the match ball breaking down on the pitch.

After bringing the ball to the centre circle, the miniature Volkswagen vehicle sat stationary next to Mbappe.

The forward could be seen growing visibly frustrated by the delay before picking up the car.

He then carried it to a staff member, who ran the vehicle off the pitch so that the match could begin.

Mbappe once again captained Les Bleus as he won his 86th cap for the national team.

Didier Deschamps overturned their two-goal first leg deficits thanks to Michael Olise and Ousmane Dembele’s strikes.

The 2-0 victory sent the match to a penalty shootout, where the hosts won 5-4 to advance.

Mbappe converted the opening spot-kick for his side, but his international goal drought continues.

The 26-year-old remains France’s third highest scorer of all-time, though, despite not scoring since last summer’s Euros.

Meanwhile, the two-time World Cup winners will now face Spain in the semi-finals in a repeat of the 2021 Nations League final.

The winner will face with Germany or Portugal in this year’s final, whilst the loser drops into a third place play-off.

France’s clash with Spain is scheduled for just five days after the Champions League final.

Mbappe could still be involved in both matches, with the final on May 31 taking place at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

Real Madrid face Arsenal in the quarter-finals next month as they continue the defence of their crown.

Mbappe will also be looking to spearhead France’s World Cup qualifying campaign.

The 2018 winners begin their journey to next summer’s finals in September.

France face Ukraine, Iceland and Azerbaijan in their qualifying group.

The group winners directly qualify for the finals in Canada, Mexico and the USA, whilst the runners-up head into the play-offs.
