Preston vs Aston Villa prediction

Preston will be relishing this chance getting this far in the FA Cup for the first time since 1966 where they lost to Manchester United.

The did reach the semis two years prior losing to West Ham but have yet to get this far into the knockouts since.

Aston Villa on the other hand have won each of their last four FA Cup quarter-finals.

But can the Championship overcome their David tag facing the Premier League goliaths still in the Champions League, with a busy schedule coming up?

They eased to victory over Cardiff in February and now look to do the same as their good run is set to continue after the international break.

Preston vs Aston Villa betting tips

Villa look set to have Ollie Watkins back in the starting XI perfect timing ahead of their busy run and crucial quarter-finals in both the FA Cup and Champions League next week.

Watkins should be fancied to get a goal as the striker has never shirked away in big games, proving to be a consistent finisher when it comes to all competitions.

If he is subbed off it will also count towards the player that replaces him, which would have come in handy numerous times at the start of the season with Jhon Duran.

Preston will put up a good fight of course, but there’s a suspicion that Aston Villa, even if they put out a couple of fringe players can comfortably see this out, even if it ends up being a 2-1 backs to the wall at the end kind of game.
