The promising mare Brighterdaysahead trained by Gordon Elliott has been ruled out of the Aintree Hurdle where she was set to make it a thrilling clash against Constitution Hill and Lossiemouth.

Elliott revealed the news this afternoon ahead of the Grade 1 contest on Thursday afternoon as the mare will instead be going to Punchestown Festival which gets underway Tuesday, April 29.

Constitution Hill’s price has been smashed in as a result and is once again a strong odds-on favourite

Punters were excited for mammoth Grade 1 Aintree Hurdle featuring three super stars over hurdles.

Constitution Hill being entered was a nice surprise in of itself as the gelding came out of the Cheltenham Festival well despite falling.

He was set to go to Punchestown Festival only but given how well he’s working trainer Nicky Henderson and owner Michael Buckley are keen to get him back to winning ways.

Prior to the Champion Hurdle fall in March, Constitution Hill had won ten in a row going unbeaten and is still yet to be headed by a horse when finishing a race.

The money is still very much on the Seven Barrows horse over Willie Mullin’s mare, who stormed home to win the Mares’ Hurdle at Cheltenham Festival.

State Man and Constitution Hill shocked punters in one of the best races at Cheltenham in recent history as Golden Ace won the Champion Hurdle in a drama-filled feature where both former Champions fell.

But the question is now can he bounce back and silence the doubters?

If he does, the pressure is well and truly on Brighterdaysahead to also improve like she’s expected to do after a disappointing run at Cheltenham, though she did get impeded by the falling State Man.
