From special rules to throwback food prices, the Masters is special.
Tiger Woods made his name regularly conquering the Augusta National Golf Club, while Rory McIlroy would give almost anything to win his first Green Jacket and complete a golf grand slam.

The perfectly manicured greens and blooming azaleas are well known to fans across the globe.
But Netflix had to make a special request to provide a behind-the-scenes view of a tournament that is revered by both golfers and supporters.
“My big pitch to them was, there’s no way that I could do anything to tell the story of the Masters better than you can,” Chad Mumm, executive producer of Netflix’s Full Swing, exclusively told talkSPORT.
“But what we want to do with Full Swing was to tell the story of what it was like to be a competitor in the Masters, or to be a family member of a player who was competing in the Masters.
“They, much to my surprise, agreed and said ‘Yes.’ And we’ve been really fortunate to be able to film there and have great access.”
Mumm highlighted Season Three footage of Scottie Scheffler, Ludvig Aberg and Neal Shipley as proof of Full Swing’s Masters potential.
Scheffler won the 2024 tournament at 11-under par, while Aberg finished second and Shipley tied-for-53rd.
“(It) really showcased what is so great about that tournament and what makes it so special — not just to fans, but to the players,” Mumm said.
“They show up and from the moment they step onto the property, every single person they interact with they know, they’ve been seeing them for years.
“If you’re a rookie to kind of come in for the first time and to feel the history and feel the stakes, every one of these players — even if it’s their first time playing — they know every single hole, they know every single shot.

“And to be able to go out and compete and to do it in front of the best — you can’t call them fans, they’re patrons — but the best fans in all of golf. They’re the most knowledgeable, the most respectful.”
Mumm highlighted the lack of cellphones around the course as one of Augusta’s unique aspects.
That pure focus on golf blends with a ‘childhood dream’ for pros if they’re in contention during the final rounds.
Respectful fans and a highly knowledgeable staff combine to make the Masters more traditional than ever in 2025.
While the rest of the sports world keeps advancing at a rapid pace, Augusta keeps being Augusta — and that’s what makes it so special.
“The thing that I take away from being there and being inside the ropes there is just the how dedicated the whole Augusta National operation is to just providing an amazing experience for both the players and the patrons,” Mumm said.

“Every detail is top notch. From the player point of view, the locker room, the set up, the practice area, it’s all top flight. But from a fan point of view, even the parking lot — the general admission parking lots have beautifully manicured flower beds and there’s fresh pine straw laid out.
“The experience of walking in there as a fan — even if you have just a general admission ticket — from the parking to the merch tents to the concessions, it’s just 10 out of 10. And I always tell people, ‘I’ve been to a lot of cool sports events, I still have never been to one that’s better run than the Masters.’ “
The 2025 Masters will be held April 10-13.
Bryson DeChambeau, Collin Morikawa, Jon Rahm, Scheffler, Aberg and McIlroy are the favorites to win this year.
LIV golfers will return to compete against PGA Tour members, but Nick Faldo doesn’t believe that a full reunion is required.
“Personally, I think they should just go and do their own thing,” Faldo, an analyst for Sky Sports’ coverage of The Masters, exclusively told talkSPORT.
“LIV is LIV. Go and play the tour.”
