Tony Khan made NFL and wrestling history on the same night in last year’s Draft.
The Jacksonville Jaguars‘ chief football strategy officer, hilariously went viral after Caleb Williams was drafted No. 1 and the Kansas City Chiefs bagged a record-setting wide receiver.

While NFL fans across the globe watched commissioner Roger Goodell welcome the next generation of recruits, a momentary sight of Khan — who also owns AEW — in the Jaguars’ war room turned heads and had to be seen to be believed.
“Tony Khan becomes the first ever NFL executive in a draft room shaking off the effects of a piledriver he received on national television in a wrestling ring the night before,” NFL Network announcer Rich Eisen said as he took in images of Khan in a neck brace.
Those words had never been uttered before in NFL Draft history.
On AEW Dynamite, Khan received a hard punch to the gut and nasty piledriver as part of a storyline.
It’s safe to say that American football, international football and wrestling fans all laughed out loud when they saw a brief glimpse of a smiling Khan on the screen before he continued to sell the AEW plot.
“Tony Khan is in a neck brace,” tweeted ESPN personality Pat McAfee, with laughing emojis attached.
“It was renamed the Tony Khan Driver about two months ago,” one fan tweeted.
“Hahaha. This is funny as hell,” a second fan posted.
“Oh My God, LOL,” a third fan wrote.
“Bobby Heenan fan. Clearly,” a fourth fan said.

Behind the multi-talented Khan was his father, Shahid, who is Fulham‘s chairman and owns the Jaguars.
To the right of the ‘injured’ AEW owner was former Jacksonville head coach Doug Pederson.
Khan still managed to drink out of a coffee cup while wearing a thick white neck brace.
“Look at Tony Khan!!!” one fan tweeted. “That’s commitment if I’e ever seen it!!! Pro wrestling is real.”
The Jaguars selected wideout Brian Thomas Jr. in the first round and looked to have bagged a gem after he racked up 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns.
But it was a miserable season in Florida as the team went 4-13.
James Gladstone has come in as the new general manager and will oversee the 2025 Draft alongside the Khans and incoming head coach Liam Coen.
Currently holding the No. 5 pick, the new regime will have a tough choice to make with plenty of options on the board.
While defensive standouts Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter are likely to be off the board already, having several QB-needy teams above them means the Jags are likely to have standout defensive tackle Mason Graham fall to them.
